Equestrian Pilates is a program specifically designed for riders. It is a great way to deepen your seat AND your relationship with your horse.
It helps creates a balanced, flexible, strong and aware rider.
Flexibility- Flexible muscles and joints give the body the ability to move freely on and off the horse.
Balance- Balance gives the ability to apply strength and flexibility to maintain effective use of the hands, seat, and legs while moving with the horse.
Strength- A rider needs functional strength to maintain body alignment on a moving horse.
Awareness- To make improvements in our riding skills we need to notice the mistakes we are making to correct them. Noticing and remembering correct movements helps us replicate them.
Pilates is for everyone of all abilities and age levels , from Olympic athletes to mums and everyone in between. Pilates is also a great complimentary movement practice for any athlete or sports person whose muscles can get too tight from overtraining and needs to stay mobile for their sport.
